The School Project
We believe holistic education combines excellence in academics, socio-emotional and 21st-century skills, values, parent partnerships, and community integration. The Akanksha School model works within and beyond classrooms to maximize children’s potential, empowering teachers and school leaders with best practices, a skills-based approach, and rigorous learning standards, supported by significant investments in technology.

Socio-Emotional Well-being
Socio-emotional development is a core aspect of the learning journey for every Akanksha student. This philosophy is grounded in the belief that success in the 21st century requires each child to go beyond academics and develop essential soft skills for lifelong learning and growth. All Akanksha schools implement Socio-Emotional and Ethical (SEE) learning practices as part of their daily timetable. SEE is a creative and pragmatic learning tool designed to provide socio-emotional support while honing fundamental development skills. This approach was developed by Emory University in partnership with the Dalai Lama Trust.
Setting Each School Up for Success
Through our schools, we’re chasing student outcomes in the form of academic excellence + life skills, which is the centre of our school model. We strongly believe in the Akanksha way of doing things. These are the 4 core pillars that articulate the essential principles and practices that our schools implement.
Excellent Educators
Based on evidence and from our 30+ years of experience, we believe an excellent educator can significantly alter life outcomes of children. At Akanksha, we strive to hire the best talent for our schools through a rigorous selection process.
Innovative Pedagogy and Curriculum
Our educators are trained in 21st century pedagogical practices such as activity-based learning and universal design. Our schools integrate relevant courses and curriculum like digital proficiency, financial literacy, global awareness) to supplement the state board’s curriculum.
Parents As Partners
Evidence suggests healthy family engagement can positively impact a child’s development. Our schools bring in best in class practices to engage parents through regular parent meetings, school management committees, parent classes, volunteering and community wide efforts for child safety.
Holistic Learning Experience
Our schools dedicate ~25% of the learning time beyond academics for socio emotional learning through circle time / advisory, Arts, Sports and enrichment clubs (before / after school).
