We are excited to announce that The Akanksha Foundation in collaboration with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation is now bringing quality education to the students of Nagpur! Our School Project, first started in 2007, now extends to a network of 27 schools across Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur.

With a majority of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC)- run schools using Marathi as the primary medium of teaching, and a growing demand for English medium schools from parents & communities, the NMC recognised the need for government-run, English medium schools that can provide quality education at an affordable cost.  

To make this vision a reality, Akanksha has partnered with NMC to run six English-medium schools in the city. The six schools are spread across one assembly segment each. These include – 

“We are very excited for Akanksha to begin its journey in Nagpur. This will take us one step closer to our vision of expanding our network of schools and advocating for quality school reform in the country,” adds Akanksha CEO, Saurabh Taneja.

Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari announced this unique public-private partnership in a press conference informing the public that admissions for kindergarten classes will begin for the upcoming academic year. The six Akanksha run English medium schools affiliated to the State Education Board will provide free of cost high quality education to all its students.

We are thrilled to start this new journey in Nagpur and hope to empower students through education.
